What is the Estates General?

When push came to shove French citizens were unhappy with everything. This unhappieness lead to the Estates General. The Estates General was broken into threee different groupes of people. The 1st Estates General was the clergy, 2nd class consisted of the nobles, lastley the 3rd of the Estates General was that of the middle class and pesants. Afeter a while the third Estates General decided to break off of the other two. Now turning themselves into the Communes "Commons." The new orginization "AKA" Communes "that consisted of the old 3rd Estates General" invited the other Estates Generals to join their new orginization, but the others refused. On June 17, 1789 the Communes offically declaired themselves the National Assembley. Again inviting the other two Estates General to join the Assembely but as equal parties. Agin they refused. Then King Louis XVI closed the Salle De Etats "where they National Assembley were currentley meeting." The weather did not permit them to meet outside so the moved to a near by tennis court where they took the "Tennis Court Oath on June 20 1789." This oath was a promace not to disband until they had written a conctitution for the country of France. Realtivley soon after the oath took place many of the clergy or 1st Estates General joined under the National Assembley, very soon after 47 members from the nobility class "secound Estates General" joined. This began to rapidley dissolve the Estates General. THIS WAS THE BEGINING OF EQUALITY AMOUNG SOCIAL GROUPS!!! On July 9, 1789 again renamed itself the National Constitute Assembley.
